Un documental explica la història de dues estudiants del programa UB Refugi

El film “Refugee Students” neix d’una col·laboració entre les entitats sòcies del projecte UNI(di)VERSITY, en què participa la Fundació Solidaritat UB.

La pel·lícula documental “Refugee Students” (Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso, 2022) s’ha estrenat el dijous 15 de desembre al Cinema Farnese de Roma, amb motiu del Dia Internacional de les Persones Migrants. El film explica la història de Robina, Bozhena i Sofiia, tres estudiants universitàries refugiades a Roma i Barcelona.

A la Universitat Sapienza de Roma la protagonista és l’estudiant afganesa Robina, que va arribar a Itàlia l’any 2020 gràcies al programa de mentoria de la Sapienza per a persones refugiades. El documental la filma en els exàmens, la renovació de documents i alguns moments íntims amb la família. Com ella, altres estudiants d’Afganistan van arribar a Itàlia, i comparteixen una nova vida donant-se suport mútuament.

A la Universitat de Barcelona les protagonistes són les estudiants ucraïneses Bozhena i Sofiia. S’han conegut a Barcelona durant el Curs de transició als estudis universitaris del programa UB Refugi, s’han fet bones amigues i es consolen mútuament. Mentre assisteixen a la formació de la UB, continuen estudiant a la universitat ucraïnesa mitjançant classes en línia. El documental les segueix en el curs, el procés d’acollida a la UB i quan truquen les amistats a Ucraïna. A través de les seves interaccions, veiem com la guerra deixa una empremta indeleble, si bé les joves aconsegueixen mirar cap a un futur positiu.

La pel·lícula “Refugee Students” és fruit d’una col·laboració entre la Universitat Sapienza de Roma, la Unió d’Universitats de la Mediterrània (UNIMED), la Fundació Solidaritat de la Universitat de Barcelona i l’Associació Universitària Europea (EUA), així com l’Organització Internacional per a les Migracions (OIM) i Campus France (entitats associades), en el marc del projecte UNI(di)VERSITY, finançat amb el suport del programa Erasmus+ de la Unió Europea. The film “Refugee Students” is the result of a collaboration between the partner entities of the UNI(di)VERSITY project, in which the UB Solidarity Foundation participates.

The documentary film “Refugee Students” (Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso, 2022) premiered on Thursday, December 15, at the Cinema Farnese in Rome, on the occasion of the International Migrants Day. It tells the story of Robina, Bozhena and Sofiia, three university students who took refuge in Rome and Barcelona.

At Sapienza University of Rome the protagonist is the Afghan student Robina, who arrived in Italy in 2020 thanks to the mentorship programme of Sapienza for refugees. The documentary films her exams, the renewal of documents and some intimate moments with her family. Besides her, other Afghan students arrived in Italy. They share this new life supporting each other.

At the University of Barcelona (UB) the protagonists are the Ukrainian students Bozhena and Sofiia. They met in Barcelona during the Transition course to university studies of the UB Support program for refugees. They became good friends and comforted each other. While attending the course, they continue to study at the Ukrainian university through online lessons. The documentary follows them during the course, the university placement process, and while they call their friends in Ukraine. Through their interactions, we understand how the war leaves an indelible mark, but they still manage to look towards a positive future.
